Ganesha Welcomes

Our Customer in Malaysia saw a small (6 inch) Ganesha statue at our site, and wished to make bigger (2 feet height) statues in that model for placing on the gates of their new home in Malaysia. We got the statues built to design from Mahabalipuram, the rock temple center, sent photos at stages of completion, which when approved, we sent across via Fedex couriers. Now the Ganesha statues welcome and protect at our customer's residence in Malaysia. ..

Reviving Ashtamangalyam Set

Ashtamangalyam is a collection of 8 Auspicious items traditionally presented to the Bride at the wedding, and used in the wedding ceremony. It can later be used as a Pooja thali or set. We at Indsie walked down the route of traditional Ashtamangalyam set, which later expanded to include more items, and reduced some. The traditional Ashtamangalyam set also included the Vastra (Kasavu Saree or Silk Saree as per custom) that the Bridegroom gives to the Bride. Cross Aalu Vilakku

An Aalu Vilakku blended and blessed with a Cross on top. This Lamp was custom made for a believer who presented the lamp to his church in Nedumbassery. Aalu vilakku is a very intricate design resembling banyan tree and leaves, which is cast using the Lost Wax Method of casting. Our Customer in Malaysia had a vision for a unique installation - a Water Works feature using Urulis and Varpus (!). Each one was to be tilted to make the water flow into the other. Urali Washbasin

Our Customer in the United States wanted to treat their guests long after dinner. Hence, they reached out to us to custom order a Bronze Urali Washbasin! This ingenious idea was executed by our Craftspeople, PRM Lakshmana Iyer Associates, in Mannar which is the Bronze hub of Kerala, India. At first, the makers attempted to drill a hole in the center of an Urali, but the whole Urali developed cracks with this. Making of a Kerala Mural Painting

Mural painting was traditionally done on walls of temples. It follows a long process of preparing the wall for the painting, extracting dyes from leaves, flowers and vegetables after sun drying them for days, and applying each layered coat of painting, and giving time before the next coat. Mahabalipuram is a town in Kancheepuram district, Tamil Nadu. It is on the Coromandel Coast facing Bay of Bengal, around 60 km south from Chennai. It is an ancient historic town and was a Port city of South Indian dynasty of the Pallavas during the seventh century.
